The Rehabilitation of this 3 acre neighborhood park in the heart of Princeton Borough is a collaborative process with the Borough and the Residents surrounding the park. The Concept Plan shown here is reflective of the needs of the Residents and the strong desire to keep the park’s heavily treed areas and open field.

We have introduced a sustainable landscape design that will direct storm water into rain gardens where boardwalks will pass over. Among the many play experiences there will be a featured Tree house will be nestled among the large Oaks in the park as a central architectural component and play element for children.

Ford Leonard Towers, City of Elizabeth Housing Authority, Elizabeth, N.J.

The renovation for this senior housing project in the City of Elizabeth features extensive new landscaping, fencing, removal of concrete paving and a newly paved parking lot. All landscaping is with native plants and has no irrigation. We have also added new seating areas and a community garden in the rear yard of the complex.

Bungalow Park, Atlantic City, N.J.

Working with the Marathon Engineers and the City of Atlantic City, we are designing a new park with a central water feature and sprayground for the children in this downtown neighborhood. New landscape berms filled with native coastal barrier plantings, new pathways and shaded seating areas will be provided.

New York University Medical Center – Vilcek Hall Plaza, New York, N.Y.

A new plaza and front entry was recently completed for a student housing complex near the NYU Hospital. Built in planters are used for seating areas and all storm water is kept on site under the plaza. Extensive new landscaping provides seasonal color.

Shea Plaza for the Performing Arts

We have designed a new entry plaza for the William Paterson University Shea Performing Arts building. The music program at WPU has one of the premier jazz programs in the country and an active performing arts schedule. Seating areas frame the circular space with brushed concrete aggregate cubes. The new plaza takes its cue from the other pedestrian plazas we have designed on campus with brick paving and sustainable landscaping. All storm water will be captured on site with planted rain gardens within the plaza.

Vilcek Hall Plaza

We are working with NYU Medical Center and Integrated Design Group Architects for the renovation of a Residence and Office building on the NYUMC Campus. The new plaza on the east side of Manhattan feature stone clad planters, tiered steps for seating and extensive landscaping.

A new condominium on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the Laureate has the essence of a grand pre-war building. We designed three roof gardens for the residence that included lounging areas and a children playground.

For a new condominium in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, we have designed all the outdoor amenity spaces including an entry courtyard that has the feel of an urban pocket park, and two community roof gardens. The roof garden on the first floor features a stone hearth and dining area. The rooftop garden will have a bar, grill and dining area with extensive landscaping.

2012 NJASLA Design Award

The property located in the Hop Brook Valley in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts consist of 500 acres of woods, streams, ponds, meadow, lawn and several buildings. The design encompassed creating a natural landscape setting surrounding the house that would complement the architecture and respect the natural topography and hydrology of the valley. We were also required to provide extensive wetland mitigation with selections of native riparian plantings along the pond.

A series of gardens wrap around the back of the house terraced into the hill. Following around the master suite garden down a stone stair, we designed a new spa set into the slope just a short walk from a backyard entrance of the house. The spa area, set into the hillside is approached from the house with a fieldstone path. Rocks and boulders were selected from wooded areas of the property to blend in with the spa and stone coping and is surrounded with lush new woodland plantings including ferns, mountain laurels, pines, hemlocks and birches.

We have redesigned a central courtyard space in the center of the downtown surrounded by commercial properties. The new plan replaces a brick paved space with an old oversize concrete fountain. The space lends itself to a variety of uses: outdoor dining, summertime entertainment, an interactive water feature, strolling and passive landscaped seating areas. The entrance alley with signage, landscaping and a stone channel encourage people to enter from Main Street.
